Following the sad death of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, the ceremonial funeral arrangements have been confirmed.
Local areas are confirming their arrangements for remembering HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Funeral will take place on Saturday 17 April 2021 at 3pm in St George’s Chapel, Windsor. The Funeral Service will begin with a National Minute’s Silence at three o’clock. The service will be preceded by a ceremonial procession inside the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Information about the ceremonial detail of His Royal Highness's forthcoming funeral can be viewed on the Royal.uk website.
Later this week, the Mayor of the Borough of King's Lynn & West Norfolk Cllr Geoffrey Hipperson, who would have led the minute's silence from the steps of the Town Hall, will be releasing a short video message, encouraging people to observe this minute's silence wherever they are, at home, out shopping or at work.
Although COVID-19 restrictions have placed limitations on the way people can pay their respects, there are several opportunities in west Norfolk for people to remember His Royal Highness Prince Philip.

Books of condolence
In accordance with public health advice, members of the public are asked to continue to follow the current Government guidance, not to gather in crowds, and not to visit Royal residences to pay their respects.
There is an e-book of condolence on the Royal.uk website. Alternatively you can send your condolences to the Civics Office, The Town Hall, King’s Lynn, PE30 5DQ.
During this time the Royal Family ask that members of the public consider making a donation to a charity instead of leaving floral tributes in memory of The Duke of Edinburgh. The Royal.uk website has a list of The Duke of Edinburgh’s patronages and charities.
