The Local Plan provides a sustainable planning policy framework for dealing with new development in the Borough. This includes site specific allocations and policies for residential and employment use, and economic, environmental, and social policies. Local plans must be positively prepared, justified, effective and consistent with national policy in accordance with section 20 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended) and the National Planning Policy Framework. This Cabinet Report sets out the Local Plan process from now through to adoption including the main modification consultations. |

The main modifications are the Inspectors and required to make the plan sound. They will be consulted upon and anyone and everyone will have the opportunity to make a representation should they so wish. Representations will be considered bey the Inspectors and inform their Local Plan Report. The Local Plan (as submitted) was previously subject to Equalities Impact Assessment screening (Report to Cabinet, 15 June 2021 – p60). |
