Information about the strategy to support economic growth of West Norfolk
An economic strategy for West Norfolk
We have developed a new Economic Strategy for west Norfolk as part of our corporate priority to promote growth and prosperity.
The West Norfolk Economic Strategy will support the economic growth for all our businesses, people and places. This is intentionally timed to coincide with the launch of our new Corporate Strategy and the Norfolk Local Growth Plan, which among other features includes new devolved powers, funding and tools for local transport, regeneration, housing and skills.
Through collaborative effort, the council team has shaped a vision and priorities that reflect our current state and our ambitions for 2045. But this strategy is not just for the Council; it belongs to the entire community, and it is through our combined efforts that these objectives will be achieved.
Together, we have shaped the direction of the economic vision and strategy for our district.
Vision and strategy
Our vision and strategy for King's Lynn and West Norfolk are built upon the insights and aspirations of a diverse range of stakeholders we have spoken to in the development of the strategy, including community organisations, educational and training institutions, government and environmental agencies, businesses, and residents.
The strategy will serve as the anchor and guiding reference for our collective actions over the next 20 years. And it is important that together, we will design and implement a coordinated action plan aimed at enhancing King’s Lynn and West Norfolk economic prosperity and improving the quality of life for all.
You can view the final draft of the Economic Vision and Strategy and State of our Capitals document, which is being presented to the Council’s Cabinet in December 2024 for sign off, below.
An investment plan will follow, outlining the resources needed to realise our vision and priorities, along with a plan for regular monitoring and evaluation against our key indicators. Our action plan and investment plan will have a shorter-term focus and will be reviewed and updated regularly.
