The BID proposer asked us, as the local authority, to hold a ballot. This was an all-postal ballot and the question asked was:
"Are you in favour of renewing the Business Improvement District (BID) proposals for the King's Lynn BID area."
The ballot
Our Cabinet members approved the 'Discover King’s Lynn' Business Improvement District renewal proposal on 20 October 2021.
The Notice of Ballot was published on 30 September 2021.
Ballot papers were issued to those eligible to take part by 14 October 2021.
The ballot took place on the 11 November 2021.
The count of ballot papers
For a BID ballot to be successful there must be a majority of those voting in favour, both in terms of numbers voting and also the rateable value represented by those voting.
Ballot papers were counted on 12 November 2021. The result of the ballot was as follows:
