Electric vehicle charging points

Information about electric vehicle charging points across the borough

Charging points

We have recently installed a number new electric vehicle (EV) chargers.  These new EV chargers have been installed with a grant under the On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme (ORCS) with the assistance of BP Pulse.

The locations have been specifically chosen to allow local residents the opportunity to charge their EV overnight.  Local residents would who have no off-road parking such as a drive or garage will find charging their EV more difficult. The ORCS grant will help provide suitable EV chargepoint close to where local residents park their cars onstreet.

They will be also available for daytime use.

Each 7kW chargepoint has two sockets allowing two EV’s to charge simultaneously.

The following car parks are now operational: -

  • Chapel Street, King’s Lynn - 3 chargepoints / 6 sockets
  • Centre Point car park, Fairstead, King’s Lynn - 3 chargepoints / 6 sockets
  • Gaywood Library, off Lynn Road - 3 chargepoints / 6 sockets
  • Lynnsport North car park, King’s Lynn - 3 chargepoints / 6 sockets
  • Valentine Road car park, Hunstanton - 3 chargepoints / 6 sockets
  • Austin Street East car park, King’s Lynn - 8 chargepoints / 16 sockets
  • North Street car park, Burnham Market - 3 chargepoints / 6 sockets

The existing 50kW Rapid Chargepoints have been replaced with new equipment:

  • St James’ car park, King’s Lynn - 3 chargepoints / 6 sockets
  • Central car park, Hunstanton - 1 chargepoint / 2 sockets

The chargepoints have been installed through a partnership with BP pulse. Details of the scheme can be found on the BP Pulse website.

We would also recommend that EV owners who wish to use the chargepoints download and use the BP Pulse app available from Apple App Store and Google Play.

A 3kW EV charger has also recently been installed at:

  • South Beach car park, Heacham - 1 chargepoint / 2 sockets
