West Norfolk Welcomes King's Lynn Summer Events continue

West Norfolk Welcomes

Published: Tuesday, 10th August 2021

The Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk events continue to take place throughout August and September 2021.

Cllr Graham Middleton, Deputy Leader and Cabinet member for Business, Culture and Heritage, said: “We’ve had a strong start and great support to our summer events programme. We have a range of events and activities to encourage people back in to King’s Lynn Town Centre which has been made possible by the Welcome Back funding given to us by the Government and the European Regional Development Fund.

“We’ve put a stage up in the Tuesday Market Place and are using it every weekend. Last weekend we had D.I.S(NEY).C.O performing classic princess songs alongside tunes from the 50s to today performed by Jacen and the Rocknorts which were well received by families.

“This weekend I’m looking forward to seeing the first King’s Lynn silent disco and more great music on stage.

“I'm pleased to see King's Lynn and West Norfolk Pride are hosting a community picnic in The Walks on 21 August and the following day the annual Grand East Anglia Run takes place.

"Over the Bank Holiday weekend we have a whole new four day event taking place. 'Fun in the Park' will bring live music courtesy of Festival Too, along with a funfair and food to the Walks. Just bring a blanket or chair, and bring a picnic or enjoy the food stalls, to make the most of this family event. Alcohol will be permitted but anti-social behaviour will not, so please behave responsibly. There'll be even more live music on our stage in the Tuesday Market Place that weekend too.

“I’m also pleased to see that Discover King’s Lynn, funded by King’s Lynn BID, are organising entertainment for the town centre during the week and weekend to give people a great experience when they visit.

“To encourage visitors back in to King’s Lynn we’ve extended our events programme beyond the school holidays and I look forward to seeing entertainment every weekend up to the end of September. I would encourage people to pay a visit to our great town to see everything it has to offer.”
