The Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk has launched its programme of Hunstanton events for 2023.
Free outdoor theatre and cinema screenings are planned, along with tennis sessions for local schools, family activities in the summer holidays, a running course for women, a movement/dance class, a murder mystery evening and sunset walk.
Cllr Simon Ring, Cabinet Member for Tourism, Events and Marketing, said:
“Following the success of the Soap Box Derby, that brought over 6000 people in to Hunstanton at the start of the Easter holidays, these new events are aimed at giving residents and visitors something to enjoy and at encouraging more people into the town to support local businesses.”

June
Starts Wednesday 21 June
Gentle exercise for all which combines gentle, dance like movement with the relaxation of the mind. Held on The Green every Wednesday for 6 weeks

With Smithdon High School and the Glebe House School, plus a West Norfolk Schools Tennis Tournament.
July
Starts Thursday 6 July
Hunstanton Hunny Bees running club are helping to organise this course for women to take up running in an all-women environment. Meet by the Crazy Golf Pavilion in the Heritage Gardens at 6:30pm.
Saturday 15 July
Three well-known actors pitch their own preference – Macbeth, Hamlet or King Lear – their competing egos and a put-upon studio manager threaten to derail proceedings for the unfortunate host, struggling desperately to hold the whole project together. Free performance on The Green, starts at 7pm.
25 July, 10, 15 & 24 August 10:30am - 4pm
- Pebble Painting on the Green. Meet at the Bandstand.

Wednesdays 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 12:30pm & 2:30pm
- Punch and Judy sessions on the Green. By the Bandstand.
3 & 17 August. Four sessions held between 11am and 3pm
- Adventure Gardeners
Can you find the fabled Golden Trowel of Hunstanton? Join Gardeners Percy and Polly and become an Adventure Gardener yourself. Have fun with a treasure hunt, meet puppet friends and solve riddles to save the gardens. Fun for kids aged 5-9 years old. Meet at the Gazebo near the Play Area/Crazy Golf in the Heritage Gardens.
1 - 3 August
- Summer Tennis Coaching at Hunstanton Recreation Ground
A three-day course for young people with qualified LTA coaches. Sign up to improve your tennis skills. Course cost- £15. Booking essential- visit www.west-norfolk.gov.uk/hunstantonevents. Places are limited.
School years 3 and 4: 10.00am - 11.00am

- Free family outdoor theatre: Alice Through the Looking Glass on the Green. Next to the Bandstand.
Saturday 19
- Free outdoor cinema on the Green: Top Gun Maverick
Don your flight suit and aviators to come and enjoy a free screening of the most recent Top Gun film starring Tom Cruise. Film starts at 9pm. Arrive early with your blankets and chairs to get your place.
Sunday 20
- Free outdoor cinema on the Green: Grease
West Norfolk T-Birds and Pink Ladies are invited to a free screening of the classic 1978 musical comedy starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. Film starts at 9pm. Arrive early with your blankets and chairs to get your place.
Plus a free indoor Children’s cinema screening of The Super Mario Brothers Movie in collaboration with Hunstanton Town Council. To be screened at 11am (doors open at 10:15am) on Sunday 20 August. 250 seats available, allocated on a first come first served basis. Free film recommended for children aged 7+. Must be accompanied by an adult.

- Hansel and Gretel puppet show in the Town Hall in collaboration with Hunstanton Town Council.

- Murder mystery evening in The Golden Lion: The Haunting of Hunstanton
