Residents of Stoke Ferry will being able to have their say about the proposed Neighbourhood Plan for their area on 24 August.

The Stoke Ferry Neighbourhood Plan has gone through a rigorous process over the past 5 years, since Stoke Ferry Parish Council first took the decision to prepare a Neighbourhood Plan in autumn 2018.

Following around four years of development, the plan was submitted to the borough council in August 2022 and has subsequently undergone an independent examination. In May, the independent examiner passed it to proceed to referendum, subject to a number of changes.

The referendum is the final stage of the plan-making process, which will allow the Neighbourhood Plan to be adopted, if supported by a majority (50% or more) of voters in the referendum.

Voting in the referendum will take place at Stoke Ferry Stoke Ferry Community Centre, Wretton Road, PE33 9QJ on 24 August between 7.00am and 10.00pm.

Counting will take place on 25 August and the result of the referendum is expected to be announced soon after noon on 25 August.

All adults aged 18 or over on 24 August who are resident in Stoke Ferry and who are registered to vote will be eligible to vote in the referendum.
