Staff recognised for their long serving commitment to the community

Long Service Awards staff 2024

Forty members of staff have been recognised for their long service to the borough council and dedication to the local community at a ceremony held at the town hall on Thursday 18 January 2024.

Certificates were presented by the Mayor, Cllr Margaret Wilkinson, the Leader, Cllr Terry Parish and Chief Executive of the borough council, Lorraine Gore. This year there are 18 awards for 10 years’ service, 15 awards for 20 years’ service, 5 awards for 30 years’ service and 2 awards for 40 years’ service.

Mayor of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, Cllr Margaret Wilkinson, congratulated them for their long service:

“In my role as Mayor I speak to many residents, staff, businesses, charities and other voluntary groups throughout the borough. I regularly hear positive comments about the valuable work, and help, our council staff have given them.

“Having been a councillor for more than 40 years I’m delighted to see so many faces that I know being acknowledged for the part they play in supporting and contributing to our west Norfolk communities.”

Cllr Terry Parish, Leader of the borough council, added:

“We are recognising 40 members of staff who have an impressive 710 years of experience and public service to us, the people of West Norfolk, between them. I am pleased that we can mark these professional milestones and thank them personally for their contribution.”

Lorraine Gore, Chief Executive of the borough council, said:

“The most important asset in any organisation is its staff. I want to thank all our staff for their commitment and dedication in supporting our west Norfolk communities, it is very much appreciated.”
