This Saturday, 18 May, a new sport is coming to Hunstanton. Walking Football is coming to the Recreation Ground, kick off is at 10:30am and the presentations will be around 4pm.
This small, eight team tournament, has been organised by the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk and Heacham Walking FC, for teams over 60 years of age.
Cllr Simon Ring, Cabinet Member for Tourism, Events and Marketing, said: “This sport has grown in popularity and I’m pleased to see it being introduced in Hunstanton as part of our summer events schedule.
“I’d also like to thank Heacham Walking FC for their support in organising this and Alive West Norfolk for the loan of the tournament goals. Eight teams are already registered and will play through the day and I urge residents and visitors to come and cheer them on.”
Teams from all over Norfolk are participating. Sherringham, Norwich Socca Seniors A & B, King’s Lynn, Mundesley, Heacham, Cromer Strollers and Erpingham Leisure Hub will be competing.
