Prospective candidates and election agents from across North West and South West Norfolk are being invited to one of two online briefing sessions ahead of the 2024 General Election.
The sessions will take place on Microsoft Teams on Friday 31 May at 3:30pm and Tuesday 4 June 2024 at 6pm. Sessions should last no longer than one hour.
Candidates and agents will be introduced to (Acting) Returning Officer Lorraine Gore, and Elections Manager, Andrew Barrett.
Lorraine Gore, (Acting) Returning Officer, said:
"These sessions will cover the timetable for the elections, the nomination process and where to find more information on the Electoral Commission website. We'll also talk about polling stations and postal votes, voter ID, and will explain the verification and count arrangements. It should prove very useful for people thinking of putting themselves forward for the role of Member of Parliament for North West or South West Norfolk."
Candidates and election agents can email elections@west-norfolk.gov.uk to book a place and let us know which of the two sessions they would like to attend.
The General Election takes place on Thursday, 4 July 2024. Anyone wishing to vote in this election must be registered by 18 June 2024 and the deadline for receiving new postal vote applications is 5pm on Wednesday 19 June 2024. To register to vote, visit gov.uk/register-to-vote.
