Due to a recent review of election boundaries in England, some people in West Norfolk will find themselves in different parliamentary constituencies at the forthcoming general election.

The main villages affected are Pentney, which has moved from North-West Norfolk into South-West Norfolk, and Walsoken, West Walton, Walpole Highway and Terrington St John, which have moved from South-West Norfolk into North-West Norfolk.

The borough council’s elections manager, Andrew Barrett, said:

“The Boundary Commission regularly reviews constituency boundaries to ensure that there each boundary meets its legal requirements, for example minimum and maximum number of voters.

“It reviewed these boundaries again last year and as a result some of our villages on the borders of the boundary have moved into different constituencies so voters in those areas will find themselves voting for a different MP.

“Anyone wishing to check their constituency can find out on the UK Parliament website, or it will be on their poll card when it arrives.”
