The Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk has added some colour to the Sandringham Flower Show.

Since 2013 staff from the borough council public open space grounds central team have designed displays, supplied plants and created floral beds at the Royal Marquee, around the bandstand, the stage area of the Horticultural Talks Marquee, entrances of the Royal Marquee and two main pedestrian visitor gates.

Bal Anota, Cabinet member for Events and Public Open Space at the borough council, said:

“The annual Sandringham Flower Show is the most prestigious horticultural event in West Norfolk and the borough council Grounds Team is honoured to once again be involved by designing and supplying floral bedding displays.

“The displays are grown, designed, and created by our own in-house staff, who use their knowledge and experience of providing and caring for the flower beds, hanging baskets and planters in the public spaces of the borough. Our team have again put together some fantastic displays that thousands of people will see.”

Chris Durham, Public Open Space Operations Manager at the borough council, added:

“The main considerations within our designs include colour, scent, and variety to give maximum impact to welcoming visitors.

“It is an honour and a pleasure to provide these displays and we hope visitors enjoy seeing them as much as we do creating them.”

All the plants had been grown in the borough council nursery, looked after by two nursery staff, that grows 70,000 plants for our area every year.

The plants are collected and taken back to the borough council nursery after the show, where they can be tended and reallocated across West Norfolk.
