Communities grants and support
Go Green for Communities
Go Green for Communities provides grants of up to £8,000 for village halls, community buildings, and sports halls in West Norfolk to support energy efficiency and environmental improvements and a reduction in carbon footprints. The programme also provides free training and advice to community groups on the following;
- How to produce a carbon reduction plan for your community building.
- Energy efficiency measures for community buildings.
- Funding for energy efficiency improvements to community buildings.
The deadline for applications is Friday 15th November 2024.
The scheme is being delivered by Community Action Norfolk on behalf of the Borough Council.

Love Your Town
The Love Your Town scheme has relaunched for 2024/25 with an increased investment fund total of £20,000.
Community groups and businesses are invited to apply for grants of up to £2,000 to bring ideas to life to help generate footfall and increased activity for the local town centres of Downham Market, Hunstanton and King's Lynn.
Grants will be awarded to projects which help to support and grow the local economy, increase pride in the area, and increase footfall into the town centres.
The £20,000 investment pot is provided through UK Shared Prosperity Funding via the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, and funding from Norfolk County Council.
Businesses and community groups have until 5pm on Friday 13 September 2024 to submit an Expression of Interest.
Business grants and support
King’s Lynn Town Centre Gutter Clearance
Do you own or lease a property in King’s Lynn Town Centre? If so, you may be eligible for a free gutter clearance.
Properties in the town centre that are eligible for the scheme include commercial properties located on the High Street, Norfolk Street, St James Street, Saturday Market Place, Tower Street and Blackfriars Street.
Places are limited, so please complete and return the application before 30 September 2024.

West Norfolk Training Grants
Micro, small and medium sized businesses and sole traders in west Norfolk are offered the opportunity to apply for funding help businesses to upskill employees, improve resilience and productivity, and support staff retention.
Grants from £250 up to a maximum of £3,000 per business are available, with the funding covering up to 75% of the total cost of the training. There is no limit to the number of employees being trained (subject to a maximum grant award per business).
The scheme will close to new enquiries at the end of October 2024 so don’t delay your initial enquiry.

West Norfolk Rural Business Capital Grants
This grant scheme can provide funding of between £10,000 up to a maximum value of £100,000 to cover up to 50% of eligible capital costs. Grants will support new and existing rural businesses to develop new products and facilities that will be of wider benefit to the local economy and to support the development and promotion of the visitor economy.
Projects must be complete by December 2024 and the application window will close ahead of this so please don’t delay your application. Our friendly grant advisors will help guide you through the application process.
This funding covers rural areas only and excludes King’s Lynn town centre businesses and some built up industrial areas.

West Norfolk Rural Business Capital Grants
Go Digital West Norfolk
Free digital business support is available for small and medium sized businesses in West Norfolk to learn how to better use digital tools to identify business opportunities and help your business grow.
You can also apply for a grant award of up to £500 to help you implement a digital action plan. Applications are on a first come first served basis.

Business Transition to Net Zero
The Business Transition to Net Zero Grant is aimed at small and medium sized businesses in West Norfolk with ambitions to reduce their carbon footprint and increase productivity.
Grants between £25k and £100k are available, with a maximum intervention rate of 20% of the cost of the development. To be awarded the minimum of £25k, you must show total project costs of at least £125k.
The scheme will fund capital developments, rather than LED lighting or the supply or installation of solar panels. Eligible schemes will include those which improve productivity for the business and supply chain and make use of clean and/or renewable energy production and the recycling of goods and materials.
You will be taken though a consultancy process to develop a decarbonisation plan, if you don’t have one already, and this will include aspirations for energy efficiency, water efficiency, waste reduction, and a reduced impact on the natural environment.

New Anglia Growth Hub
New Anglia Growth Hub provides free high quality local business advice, support, guidance and signposting to opportunities for finance, grants and vouchers.
Opportunities may also be available to you to apply for funding via the Small Grant Scheme which offers grants from £2,500 to £25,000 to help you grow your business. These normally cover up to 25% of your total project costs. Alternatively the Growth Through Innovation Fund offers grants up to £25,000 to help businesses invest in innovation, research and development. The grant could pay up to 45% of total eligible project costs.

The Place - Pop Up Shop and Business Hub
We are pleased to announce that UKSPF funding has been invested into funding a continued provision of The Place Pop Up Shop and Business Hub.
The Place is a fresh, flexible, multi-purpose venue that can be hired for various business endeavours, such as exhibitions, demonstrations, interactive workshops, tastings, and even general retail usage. You could use The Place to test out a new product, trial a bricks and mortar presence or reach a new audience.
The venue can be rented for an evening, weekend, week or even on a repeat basis. The possibilities are almost endless!
